Final Reflection

1. What was your favorite ISS unit? Why?
My favorite unit was economics because I felt that I did my best in it and my group in every economic activity won the vote of every one.

2. What was your least favorite? Why? Why could be improved?
I least favorite was political science because the video "People like Us" was really repetitive and dry. I thought we could watch a different movie so that we don't have to experience that again.

3. What were 2 things you have accomplished or improved upon this summer?
I think I improved my thesis writing skills and my researching skills.

Yes I think I am prepared because I know now what it takes to be a high schooler. And I think I will be ready for social studies because I improved my thesis writing skills and my researching skills.

5. What grade do think you deserve? Why?
I think I deserve an "A" because I felt I put my 100% into all of my work.

Reflection on Geography Unit

1) What are three key ideas or facts that you will remember on year from now?
I will remember that the Europeans conquered the world with "Guns, Germs, and Steel" because it was interesting that those ideas were actually the cause of them taking over nations and nations. I will also remember that geography can influence how history like who ever has the geographical luck they will survive longer and have an advantage to the other places in the world who don't have that luck. Also I will remember that people in the old times really had a hard time of making maps becasue they didn't have the technology we have today.

2) What was the most challenging activity for the unit?
I thought that the google earth project was the hardest activity because it took a lot of time to research and find pictures for the ingredients of the product we chose. And not only that we had to go in-depth into one ingredient and do more research on that. And to top it off putting all that research into Google Earth. I would say that was pretty tough.

3) How is geography relevant to your life?
It is the land I am standing on right now, it is also the land that my ancestors lived on. It pretty much influenced our history of how we became to be. It made us adapt to its land and sea, it made us who we are and what we can do, it made me, me.

4) Based on your research, How are geography and economics connected?
They are connected by agriculture which is both influenced by geography and economics. Because the plant can only be grown in certain places (geography) and the economics demand a lot that plant or crop so that it can be sold which will benefit the economy.

5) Which of the five themes of geography best relates to your google earth project?
I think that the Human-environmental interactions theme is related because in order for the people to grow or make the ingredients to make your product they have interact with the environment like making salt mines for mining the salt, the indonesians need to clear forests to make rice plantations to make the rice grow, etc.
